INDIVIDUAL LESSONS: BEGINNING MONDAY, MARCH 16
Starting Monday, March 16, all individual music instruction (private lessons) for Ottley Music School Music will move online.
Here are some important things to note for next weeks:
- Our Faculty will be using FaceTime, Facebook Live, or Google Hangouts, or Skype, the Zoom platform for online Private FACE TO FACE LESSONS. There’s no download required and you won’t need an account – just click on the link sent by your teacher from a laptop, tablet or smartphone at your scheduled lesson time.
- Your teacher will be in contact with you in advance to confirm details.
- Please know that all instruction for Ottley Music School, individual or group, must happen online. No instruction may happen in person, either at the school or at an alternate location (such as the teacher/student home). This is critically important for the safety of everyone in our community. There are no exceptions to this rule.
- You will receive from your teacher a text or email or calendar invite.
- Adjust the phone/camera so that student’s body/hands/instrument can be seen.
- Please take a picture of your last assignment and text or email it to the teacher.
- Please have all music, pencil and assignment notebook ready.
- Please prepare the room to be as quiet and interruption-free as possible. No TV or other music or other people’s conversations should be heard.
- Be prepared for the first virtual lesson to have a few bumps with technology – don’t get discouraged, this will get easier.
- Be mindful of lighting, mics and speakers so that it’s easy to see and hear each other.
11. Faculty are looking forward to seeing you and your children this week; please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance. We hope that music study and daily practice can provide reassurance and a sense of routine to an otherwise uncertain time.
GROUP CLASSES AND ENSEMBLES
We will teach each person privately during or near the class time for a shorter time. Look forward to receiving instructions from your teacher
