Special Events Performed

Ottley Music School students, Alysia Dominique Mitchell and Kianna Marie Kelly-Futch with their teacher, Nevilla E. Ottley performed at Carnegie Hall on July 21, 2018 under the auspices of National Guild of Piano Teachers Judge, Dr. Monica Roberson.  Alysia performed a piano solo, Solitude by Duke Ellington, and Kianna performed Canzona di Doretta from the Puccini opera “La Rondine” accompanied by her teacher.

“All Lives Matter” Youth Open Mike

for Word Carriers, a non-profit ministry that for the past decade has distributed food, clothing, and spiritual guidance to the homeless in the DMV area.  The concert was in May 2016 at the Ebenezer Coffeehouse at 201 F Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. near Union Station.

Sunday, June 4, 2016, OMS’ performance was in the historical St. John’s Broad Creek Episcopal church where President George Washington attended, 9801 Livingston Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744.  OMS sang, and Wrayzene played a Bach Prelude on the 1800s organ.  It is the first church that allowed slaves to worship alongside their masters’ families.

CAAPA PRESENTS KOREAN AMERICAN CULTURAL ARTS FOUNDATION  “ART & SOUL:  MARYLAND”

featuring Ottley Music School and other African American Artists with Korean American Cultural Arts.  Singers included solos by Kianna Kelly-Futch, Alysia Mitchell, and Sofina Wrenne Davis (singing “This Girl is on Fire!!” by Alicia Keys).  The event was to honor Fathers, and ws held at the Bowie Performing Arts Cetner, 15000 Annapolis Road, in Bowie, Maryland.
