Ottley Music School brings music, the mind developer, for children and youth, and the productivity enhancer for adults, and enjoyment for senior citizens, to the Washington, D.C. area and beyond.
However, many cannot afford to pay even the lowest tuition, and many of them would get into trouble on the streets. Music study is a major mentoring program that prepares one for service and responsibility. We collect donations to assist youth at risk and talented persons to receive scholarships for private lesson study.
The donations also assist in the administration of ensembles such as the Steel Band, the Symphony Orchestra, and the Chorus.
These donations also assist in the administration and tuition of summer youth music programs for beginners, for intermediates, for advanced in instrumental music, vocal music, drama, dance, opera and musical productions.
Many of our graduates have gone on to colleges and universities, and on graduating have taken positions of responsibility in education, in science, in politics, in religion, in the medical field as doctors, nurses, therapists, or researchers, as well as in numerous other fields of endeavors, including music education, music performance, music productions, etc.
